DATE: Victorian, c.1890

Charming antique brooch set with three performing bears, each one appearing to hold/twirl a barbell with pearls on either end. Presumably inspired by circus performances, back in the days when circuses included wild and dangerous animals. It's crafted in 15 karat gold with wonderfully textured fur and cute faces.
